ACT 295.5 The Law of Armed Conflict Course
The Law of Armed Conflict Course was conducted between 21 February-04 March 2011 at PfP Training Center / Ankara. The aim of the course is to provide military and civilian personnel an appropriate balance of academic and practical knowledge in the principal areas of international law relating to the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC) and to enable participants to acquire ability and knowledge on the broad field of the Law of Armed conflict.
Totally 35 participants from NATO (Albania, Czech Republic, Germany and Turkey), Partnership for Peace (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro and Ukraine), MD (Algeria, Tunisia), ICI (United Arab Emirates) and Other UN Member (Bangladesh, Pakistan) countries attended the course.
The instructor team consisted of 13 instructors from Başkent University, Irish Ministry of Defense, NATO School, Turkish Army, Turkish General Staff Judge Advocate Generals, ODC-Ankara, International Committee of the Red Cross (Belgium and Serbia agencies), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Turkish Partnership for Peace (PfP) Training Center and Center of Excellence Defense Against Terrorism.
